An investigation from the study of maintainer/restorer behavior of different inbreds revealed 15 inbreds behaved as maintainers, 16 as restorers and the remaining nine as partial restorers. The F-1's of these sixteen fertile crosses were evaluated for mean seed yield and its related traits revealed NH 30 was superior in seed yield per plant (47.3 g) and was on par with the two checks, SB 275 (47.8 g), NDSH 1 (43.3 g) and a few synthesized hybrids. Further, the inbreds, RHA 6D-1, IB 2 and RCR 1296 were identified as effective restorers to CMS 234 A line.
