In the wake of the UK Government's announcement to ban new diesel and petrol cars and vans from 2040, many buyers of counterbalance fork lift trucks will be questioning the long-term future of their engine truck fleets. Tightening EU regulations on carbon, nitrogen oxide and particle emissions have already presented strong indications as to the direction policy makers wish to take. But does this signal the imminent demise of the trusted diesel workhorse? As with cars and vans, is the future electric? The answer is no and yes.
