As a new 'Instructor Guide for Reach Truck Operator Training' is launched, Laura Nelson, managing director of RTITB, explains some of the key areas that employers should be aware of. As with every type of workplace transport vehicle, specific training is required for reach truck operators. However, in some operations, especially those used to working with counterbalance lift trucks, the particular risks and challenges of reach trucks may be misunderstood and overlooked, as operators and supervisors assume that they're the same or similar.
