The EU and US have now swapped proposals on technical barriers to trade (TBT) for a potential bilateral trade deal, with offers on animal and plant health coming in the near future. The two sides have also made initial offers on market access for the 'Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership' (TTIP) - with leaders reportedly ready to commit to full tariff elimination for all goods. The fourth round of negotiations took place last week in Brussels, with EU chief negotiator Ignacio Garcia Bercero revealing that TBT offers have been made and that offers on animal and plant health - sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS) - would come "in due course".
