Almost a year on from the horsemeat scandal, far-reaching impacts are still being felt by producers, processors and retailers and by governments across the EU, where officials remain under pressure to clamp down on food fraud.When the issue first emerged in early 2013, some analysts suggested impacts on food consumption patterns may be shortlived. In the UK however, new figures show that large numbers of consumers are still shying away from ready meals containing beef.In the twelve weeks to December 8, sales of frozen ready meals were down 16.1% when compared to the same period the previous year, Kantar Worldpanel data reveals.
