摘要

Rains returned to the UK and central Europe last week but the drier pattern continued in western and southeastern areas, allowing harvesting of crops there to progress well. Some parts of the former Soviet Union also saw increased moisture, which willbe beneficial ahead of winter wheat planting. The rainy conditions in the UK meant delays to the wheat harvest there, raising further concerns that a significant proportion of the crop will be affected by disease and poor quality. Wheat and maize harvesting in central parts of Europe were slowed by the increased wet weather but no major delays were noted.
