Lunar New year, geopolitical pressures cloud pricing outlook

The outlook for global finished steel prices remained clouded last week amid geopolitical uncertainties and quiet trading in Asia as a result of the Lunar New Year holiday. Releasing its short-range global outlook at the end of last week, the International Rebar Producers & Exporters Association (IREPAS) noted that while global long steel prices are higher month on month in February, sluggish demand has some questioning the near-term sustainability of current price levels.
