Lewandowski urges rapid progress on M FF deal

The EU's Budget Commissioner has urged the European Parliament and Council to look beyond the "inter institutional dimension" of the debate on the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and reach a consensus before the end of June. Janusz Lewandowski told the EU General Affairs Council (GAC) meeting last week that the May 28 trilogue negotiations on the MFF were the "real test of intentions" for everyone involved in the process and stressed that an agreement is needed soon if EU-funded programmes are to be delivered on time and with appropriate funds.
