This paper provides an overview of Sorbus torminalis, a wild service tree belonging to the family Rosaceae, which is also known to provide valuable timber. Information is given on the abiotic damages caused by storms and the changing climate, as well as by browsing vertebrates. Tabulated data are also given on some pests and pathogens causing disorders and diseases of S. torminalis.
