The National Energy Board (NEB) in its current incarnation could soon be a thing of the past, replaced with two regulatory bodies, as the federal government looks to modernize Canada's energy regulator and make it more effective, efficient and transparent. Recommendations from a report by an expert panel tasked by the federal government with reviewing the NEB suggests sweeping changes are in order, including a change of name, a move from Calgary to Ottawa and the creation of a new national energy information agency.
