APLNG approves first train

Queensland's largest LNG project, Australia Pacific LNG, has officially sanctioned the construction of its first train. The decision authorises Origin Energy (42.5%), ConocoPhillips (42.5%) and new partner Sinopec (15%) to spend US$14 billion developing the first 4.3 milhon tonne train and establish the infrastructure to support a second.
