International Maritime Associates' most recent assessment of the global floating production market shows there has been a boom in facilities over the past decade. The IMA report, Floating Production Systems: Assessment of the Outlook for FPSOs, Semis, TLPs, Spars, FLNGs, FSRUs and FSOs shows there are now 257 floating production systems in use around the globe, some 30% more than five years ago and 90% higher than in 2002.
