摘要

A two-step procedure has been proposed for the synthesis of 1,2-bis(2-oxocycloalkyl)ethane-1,2-diones and 3,4-dioxo-4-(2-oxocycloalkyl)butanoic acid esters by condensation of cycloalkyl ketones with dimethyl oxalate or of alkyl acetates with dialkyl oxalates and cycloalkyl ketones, respectively. The structure of the synthesized compounds has been discussed on the basis of their IR, H-1 NMR, and mass spectra, and their antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella typhimurium strains has been estimated.
