摘要

Increasing demand for raw timber leads to an expansion of high mechanized harvesting technique into the slopes of the low mountain range. At the same time there is a great uncertainty about possible limitations for the employment of machines. In a first article [5] it was shown that it is at least theoretically possible to calculate inclination limits depending on the soil conditions. The present article concentrates on the verification for a forwarder on loess dominated soils. In doing so a model for inclination limits is developed which was verified at the same time by test drives in slopes. According to the results high mechanized harvesting in slopes is possible but often depending on traction aids (tracks and chains) in order to serve the demands for a safe and soil preserving usage of forest machines.
