India's growth expanded to 7.7% in the fourth quarter of the financial year (January-March, 2017-18), outpacing China's 6.8% growth rate and confirming India as the fastest growing major economy. The healthy Q4 figures show that the economy has recovered from a slump, which followed several disruptive economic initiatives such as demonetisation and introduction of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
