This year's Guman Devi Memorial Best Woman Scientist Award goes to Dr. C Bindu Roy, Senior Scientist, Rubber Research Institute of India. The award is presented based on a national contest which shortlists five women scientists from across India. The awards were presented at the Annual Conference and the 38th National Symposium of the Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology held from November 24-26, 2016, in Kolkata, India. Dr. Bindu Roy won the national award for her paper titled Targeting disease resistance loci conferring tolerance to major diseases of rubber.
