Current requirements for product quality and rising demands for sustainable products are dictating ever stricter requirements regarding the quality of recyclates.Further technological developments aimed at material purity and quality are unavoidable.Against a backdrop of marine litter and faced with political pressure,plastics recycling is becoming increasingly important for the plastics industry.In Germany,46.7% of the plastic waste collected in 2017 was recycled as materials and raw materials and 52.7% as energy.To increase the share of recycling in terms of materials and raw materials,it is necessary to improve the various existing technologies forthe collection,shredding,classification,sorting,drying,and agglomeration of plastics waste.The requirements for the resulting recyclate depend on the particular end product.That is why machine and system manufacturers are increasingly emphasizing customized machines or complete system solutions.
