World shipments of information terminal displays remained stable at 303.1 M units in 2017. Shipments of liquid crystal display monitors for desktops fell by 2% to 122.1M units, while those for notebooks fell by 1 % to 167.0M units, indicating the market has peaked. Growth in the display market is forecast at just 0.5%py through 2020 (to reach 307.7M units), due to higher demand for public information displays used in schools, commercial areas and public facilities.
