Powerful Together

The theme for this year's National Radiologic Technology Week is "Powerful Together." This week-long annual celebration commemorates the discovery of the x-ray by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on November 8,1895, and calls attention to the important role medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals play in patient care and health care safety. The statement, powerful together, emphasizes that radiologic technologists can better advocate for high professional standards of patient care when they collaborate. Building on the concept that people or ideas are more powerful when grouped together, the Radiologic Technology editorial team created the journal's first-ever education theme issue. We have collected original research and editorials focused on education to build an issue that we hope resonates with readers and gives them a powerful foundation on which to build learning. The Directed Readings in this issue might not relate to classroom learning, but they surely will expand the skills and knowledge of our readers and live up to the label of continuing education.
