Argentin asets dete for first Atlantic licensign round to complement shale gas offorts amid LNG doubts

LNG importer Argentina is planning to launch its first offshore licensing round in almost three decades in mid-2018 in the hope of developing fields off its Atlantic coast like those in neighbouring Brazil and to complement its growing efforts in producing energy from onshore 'shale plays. Argentine Energy Minister Juan Jose Aranguren said the first round of licensing would be launched in June or July for 240,000 square kilometres in three zones of the continental shelf.
