A third California utility has said it will cut electricity due to wildfire warnings, bringing the total number of state residents without power to an estimated 2 million.

San Diego Gas & Electric is preparing to cut power to 34,022 customers in inland communities based on wind conditions and wildfire warnings. The utility joins Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) and Southern California Edison (SCE) in either preparing to cut or cutting power to large sections of their territories. PG&E has cut power to 500,000 homes and businesses in Northern California and another 234,000 in San Jose and Santa Cruz.
