March gas futures moved 1.6% higher Tuesday to close in the upper $2.50s coming off of Monday's close that was the lowest in 18 months. The market is still being supported by lingering cold, that should produce a seasonably strong storage withdrawal on Thursday. The prompt month rose 4.2￠ to close at $2.594, trading in a range from $2.562 to $2.642. The 12-month strip moved 3.8￠ higher to $2.776, while the 2019 strip was up 1.4￠ at $2.777 (Futures Contract).
