Dry gas production hit another record level over the weekend and pulled the August gas contract a few cents lower to close Monday in the low $2.80s per million Btu. Also, a shift to cooler weather later in the month from the Mid-Continent to the Northeast is expected to dampen demand. The prompt month was down 3c at $2.828/MMBtu and traded in a narrow range from $2.817 to $2.865. The 12-month strip was down 2c at $2.819, while the 2019 strip fell 1.2c to $2.77 (Futures contracts).
