Analyst Stephen Smith and GMP/FirstEnergy analyst Martin King are both modeling a 52 Bcf injection, well under the 91 Bcf five-year average, as well as last year’s 76 Bcf build. "In what was probably the last gasp for summer last week, power generation remained relatively robust for late September, helping to create a little bit more demand against some slippage in domestic supply," King said. He added that if their forecast is on target, the surplus to the five-year average should be effectively eliminated with the next report.
