The Energy Information Administration reported a 43 billion cubic foot storage injection for the week ended Apr. 17 bringing working gas to 2,140 Bcf.

The injection was higher than the 39 Bcf build predicted by the Reuters survey but roughly in-line with the Bloomberg consensus estimate of 45 Bcf. In any case, it was smaller than the 49 Bcf five-year average and significantly lower than last year’s 92 Bcf injection. Storage is now 364 Bcf, or 20.5% above the five-year average and 827 Bcf, or 63%, higher than a year ago (Storage report).
