May gas futures are threatening to break below a multi-year resistance in the low $2.50s per million Btu. The prompt month fell 5.5c to $2.517/MMBtu on Wednesday after trading in a $2.507-2.582 range. The 12-month strip was down 5c at $2.726, while the 2020 strip fell 3.2c to $2.708 (Futures contracts).
