The March gas futures jumped 4.4% Monday to a close in the mid-$2.80s per million Btu,supported by an increase in heating demand that is expected to continue to rise as colder-than-normal weather is forecast through the beginning of March
Additional pressure came from”the return of near-record LNG feedgas flows amid somewhat flat production levels [that] is expected to result in solid storage withdrawals in the next few weeks, encouraging the ongoing price recovery,”Gelber & Associates analyst Daniel Myers said.
