The network of compressed natural gas fueling stations continues to extend through the San Joaquin Valley in California after the opening of a station in Bakersfield that will only offer RNG.

Local and state officials said a cleaner transportation fuel is needed as the Valley experiences some of the worst particulate matter pollution in the state, according to the California Air Resources Board. The station will be open to the public as well as fleet vehicles. Most of the RNG in California is coming from dairy farm projects.
