India’s LPG imports are expected to surge to meet nearly a one-third increase in demand this month, according to the country’s state-controlled refners. Domestic cooking accounts for 85-90pc of India’s LPG use, which exceeded 26mn t for the frst time last year, and more than 60pc of this supply is imported. And the government recently ofered recipients of the PMUY subsidy programme targeting 80mn low-income households three free cylinder reflls between April and June.
