Jackup outiook to 2020: retirements reduce market surplus

This month, North Sea Rig Report contains the first forecast for activity in the region to the end of 2020 - this edition focuses on the jackup market, with a semi market forecast to follow in August. Based on the latest updates to the supply side and evaluation of likely demand, the chart below shows demand split between countries, marketed and total supply, and the expected market surplus between now and late 2020. This is obviously a first pass at what 2020 could look like. Budgets for even 2019 have not yet been finalised by most operators so activity in 2020 is not a fully formed picture.
