Two new benchmarks have emerged for UK standard semi rates. WiLPhoenix was chartered by Petrofac at USD 138,000 and by Serica Energy at USD 170,000. The second of these rates is seen to be above the true market range as the number of bidders on this work was reduced by part Iranian ownership of the Rhum field. It is still thought a range of around USD 140,000-150,000 is an accurate representation. Older higher-specification units have recently been fixed at around USD 160,000 for winter work and around USD 200,000 for summer periods. If a sixth-generation unit is fixed for Siccar Point's Cambo Phase I programme the rate is more likely to be in a range of USD 220,000- 250,000.
