摘要

Background: The knowledge of protein structural class plays an important role in understanding its tertiary structure. The globular protein domains, whose fold types are surprisingly similar, in spite of complex and irregular in natural condition, can be mainly divided into the following four classes : all - alpha, all - beta, a/beta, and a + beta according to secondary structural content. Various significant efforts have been made to predict protein structural classes. However, the information of protein sequence representation may exist redundancy in these approaches.
