Adaptability for radio frequency (RF) front-ends are highly desirable because they not only enhance functionality and performance but also reduce the circuit size and cost. To operate in a multi-band operating environment, a novel adaptive boundary technique for impedance matching network algorithm has been proposed to reduce the exponential growth search area in multi frequency operating standards. This technique reduces the complexity in the searching process through introducing a flexible search domain in the algorithm. The boundaries of the search area are reconfigured based on the Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR). This technique significantly enhances the convergence rate and reduces the computational resources especially at multi frequency standards. (C) 2016 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
