Most nurses are struggling to provide good quality care because of staff shortages, two major reports have warned. An RCN survey of more than 1,900 nurses across the UK found that fewer than one in ten nurses felt they had adequate staffing levels in their healthcare setting.A separate study of 42,000 staff by NHS Scotland reported only a fifth of nurses felt they had sufficient numbers of colleagues.
