Scotland's nurses look set to receive a strategy that will embed compassion into everything they do. The country's chief nursing officer (CNO) Ros Moore wants to see a greater focus on the 'minutiae' of nursing - the interaction between nurse and patient. This will require a formal mechanism such as a strategy or action plan, she says. Work has already started to explore how to take this forward. The top priority for me is relationship-based care-relationships between patients and professionals, and between members of the healthcare team.
