Development of double row bearings for automatic transaxles

The performance level of automatic transmissions and transaxles is evolving with the introduction of new technologies for the purpose of improving transmission efficiency. At the present time, manufacturers are developing new types of automatic transmissions and transaxles and putting them on the market. These units have adopted designs that incorporate many types of double row tapered roller bearings. This paper will discuss the important role that these bearings play in achieving a lightweight design and greater fuel efficiency.
