BC pellet-grade wood pricing rises with tight markets,hog fuel availability remains 'long' throughout province

As has been the case for a long while,hog fuel markets in British Columbia remain oversupplied so far in third quarter. Pellet-grade furnish,however,is tighter of late due to competition for sawmill residuals from pulp and composite panel producers. Pricing for hog fuel(biomass)averages C$16/green tonne(delivered),currently,up C$l/tonne from last quarter and up C$2/tonne from a year ago. Pellet-grade furnish(sawdust,chips,and shavings)average C$44/odmt(FOB sawmill)so far into third quarter,up C$4/odmt from second quarter and up C$10/odmt from year-ago levels.
