Drax announces plans to add more biomass power, Michigan biofuel plant moves a step closer to reality

This month, UK electricity producer Drax said it plans to move ahead with conversion of a fourth unit at its mammoth power plant in England from coal to biomass. As a result, over 2 million tons/yr of wood pellets may be needed, in addition to the 7.5 million tons/yr already being consumed at the site. Most of Drax's wood fuel comes from North America.
