Lake States woodfiber markets were marked with buyer optimism at the end of fourth quarter, with improved logging conditions and consuming mills mostly on target with inventories. The past two years were checkered with soggy conditions through the region, challenging suppliers to keep margins in control as operational costs escalated and stumpage prices increased, while delivered wood prices remained relatively level.
