摘要

Health economists from Lehigh University, Lafayette College, and the University of Colorado-Denver found a causal link between expectant mothers being exposed to aviation noise levels above 55 dBA and giving birth to babies weighing less than approximately 5.5 pounds. Their research focused on unique birth records in residential neighborhoods impacted by implementation of NextGen flight paths in and out of Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, N.J.
