$1.2 Billion Proposed for NASA Electric Plane R&D

Introduced in both the U.S. House and Senate, the Cleaner, Quieter Airplanes Act is designed to reduce aircraft noise and greenhouse gas emissions 50 percent compared to the best-performing aircraft in service as of December 31, 2019. It would fund the continuation and expansion of NASA "research, development, and demonstration of electric aircraft concepts, and the integration of such concepts, with the goal of carrying out test flights by 2025."
