We appreciate the comments by Dr. Naidu [1] with regard to our article. Striae Distensae After Breast Augmentation [2]. Dr. Naidu makes some interesting remarks in relation to the anatomy and planning of breast augmentation surgery and the possible correlation between implant projection and skin envelope stress. However, the discussion about the potential effects of increased implant projection is not a new one. Although some recent reports have suggested that increased projection can cause detrimental effects to the skin envelope in the long term [3-6], this notion has not yet been confirmed by statistical evidence.
