WEST:Boatyard founder builds himself a new boat; Washington yard seeks to expand beyond gillnetters

Min La Conner, Wash., has several projects underway for Bristol Bay gillnetters and one for a crabber. TheDungeness crab boat is going to Crescent City, Calif. It's a 49' x 18' Lynn Senour design similar to other Maritime Fabrications crabbers currently fishing in northern California.It will leave in April with a 575-hp John Deere 13.5L engine and tankage to hold 30,000 pounds of crab. Three bunks are in the fo'c'sle, and a day bunk in the pilothouse.
