Bulletin 37 The Neuropsychoanalysis Group of Mexico City

2018 was a stimulating and busy year in Mexico in terms of neuropsychoanalysis. Mexico City hosted the 19th Congress of the International Neuropsychoanalysis Society at the Uni-versidad Intercontinental from August 31st to September 2nd, giving a large local and international audience the chance to enjoy interesting presentations on the topic of Repression and Defense. During November, Mark Solms returned to Mexico City to facilitate a clinical workshop. The group continued its study group sessions exploring topics such as consciousness, and emotional memory. Israel Grande gave a compelling lecture on minimal self-consciousness. Neuropsychiatrist Leonardo Ruiz gave a brilliant talk about the neurobiology of laughter and humor. Dr. Hans Olvera gave an original presentation about intrauter-ine stimulation and its relation to psychic inscription. The last session covered the mental apparatus and a discussion regarding Mark Solms' model of the conscious id. Dr. Xavier Sanchez Guzman presented his research about Parkinson's disease and its relation to narcissistic depressions at the Universidad Intercontinental. Dr. Daniela Flores Mosri gave a keynote lecture regarding the validity of psychoanalysis to date from a neuropsychoanaly-tic perspective in Mexicali at the CETYS. She also gave a workshop and participated in a discussion session. Later in the year, she gave several lectures on addiction, adoles-cence,and anxiety
