US Majors join Climate Initiative, Pledge Methane-Reduction Effort

US supermajors Exxon Mobil and Chevron have signed onto a high-level industry climate initiative, in a move that may signal growing alignment among oil and gas producers in the complicated task of addressing climate change. Exxon and Chevron were accompanied by Occidental Petroleum in joining the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI), bringing total membership in the group to 13 companies that collectively account for around 30% of global production.
