April Futures, Cash Prices Post Gains as Winter Storms Pummel East

April gas futures traded lower for a second session Friday to end the week in the mid-$2.70s per million Btu, shaving the week's gain to 1.4% as demand from late-winter cold slipped going into the weekend. A third Nor'easter, however, is expected early this week, which will again bring high winds, heavy snow and coastal flooding to the upper Eastern Seaboard. Last week's storms ratcheted up heating loads, but they also knocked power out to up to 1 million customers, which dampened demand.
