Exxon's US NatGas Output Hits 5-Year Low Amid Transition to Tight Oil

Exxon Mobil's shift into tight oil in the US has paid off with significant production growth, but it has come at the expense of its natural gas flows in the country, according to figures in the company's annual report. The Texas-based supermajor boosted its net US liquids production by more than 22% since 2013 to 420,000 barrels of oil per day, with much of the increase coming from the Bakken tight oil play in North Dakota and the Permian Basin in West Texas and New Mexico.
