Gas Seen Becoming Top Energy Source By 2030 as Demand Tapers

Improved efficiencies in both power generation and broader energy usage will cause energy demand to plateau after 2030, according to a new report by Norwegian consultancy DNV GL. The firm also estimates that fossil fuels will still account for a 52% share of the energy mix by mid-century, compared with 81% currently, with natural gas becoming the world's largest energy source in 2034.
