The US Interior Department's response to recent adverse court rulings involving sage grouse protection has been muddled,creating new uncertainty for gas producers eyeing leasing on federal lands.In recent weeks,the Trump administration has pulled thousands of acres from federal energy leasing in Western states because of court pressure over reviews of climate change impacts and species protections.That includes 300,000 acres pulled from an auction in Nevada on the eve of a Nov.12 lease sale,and 130 active leases suspended from use in Utah,the 13th largest US gas producer.
