The New York state Public Utilities Commission will hold a hearing Feb.11 on a planned moratorium by Consolidated Edison of New York(ConEd)on new gas service after Mar.15 following complaints by Westchester County officials that it could stall a more $4 billion building boom(NGW Jan.28’19).County officials said they want more time to develop a strategy to cope with the decision even as they look for ways to cut gas use,including turning to more renewable power sources such as wind and solar.
